New Puppies
Plan on a few visits over the first few months of your puppy’s life. There is a lot to prepare them – and you! – for. Our veterinarian can help with these first months of life by:
- Providing early nutrition advice
- Providing tips for socialization, training and correcting problem behaviors
- Screening for congenital or early health problems
- Planning your puppy’s vaccine schedule and implementing it
- Ensuring your puppy is free of parasites and helping you keep them that way
- Reviewing preventative care and husbandry you can provide at home
- Planning for a neuter or spay surgery
- Microchipping, if needed
New Kittens
Like puppies, plan on a few visits over the first few months of your kitten’s life. There is a lot to do!
Our veterinarian can help with these first months of life by:
- Providing early nutrition advice
- Providing tips for litterbox management, reducing damaging scratching and correcting problem behaviors
- Screening for congenital or early health problems
- Screening for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
- Planning your kitten’s vaccine schedule and implementing it
- Ensuring your kitten is free of parasites and helping you keep them that way
- Reviewing preventative care and husbandry you can provide at home
- Planning for a neuter or spay surgery
- Microchipping, if needed
New Adoptions
Adopting an adult cat or dog is a great way to give them a second chance at a forever-home! It is recommended to have newly adopted pets be examined within 30 days of adoption, although some rescues or shelters may recommend examination sooner. Our veterinarian can help get your new pet on track by:
- Reviewing the past medical records and consulting with you about any historical health problems
- Performing a comprehensive exam and consulting with you about any active health problems
- Reviewing the past vaccines given, planning the recommended vaccine schedule and implementing it
- Recommending wellness diagnostics that will help ensure your new pet is healthy inside and out
- Ensuring your new pet is free of parasites and helping you keep them that way
- Reviewing preventative care and husbandry you can provide at home
- Planning for a neuter or spay surgery, if it has not already been done
- Microchipping, if it has not already been done
